Thanks to everyone who's using the message boards (especially for answering the Zoltar question), its good to see you're all interested in the updates.
We're a week into the Dragoman trip now and its our last day in Brazil. Since leaving Parity, we've been driving for 3 days solid of about 10 hours per day, cooking all meals from the truck and sleeping in campsites and even on a sand football pitch at the side of a petrol station. I know what you, re thinking... it sounds a nightmare, but actually its been really cool. With the distances involved its impossible to travel around without spending lots of time in the Truck but the time flies. Everyone is so cool, its just a good atmosphere and there's plenty to occupy us with both the scenery as well as playing cards, reading and music! There we're a few moments of distress when we were putting up and taking down tents in the dark and pouring rain though. However it was all worth it when we arrived here in Foz. For those of you that don't know, its on the three borders of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina and the main attraction are the waterfalls. When you see the pictures (eventually) you'll recognise it from loads of documentaries. The sheer size of it is unbelievable. Its basically a big horseshoe shaped cliff with a river that must be half a mile wide, cascading over the top. The views are amazing and the walk takes you right into the spray at the bottom of the main falls. We went to a cheesy South American show last night which was an all you can eat buffet and a Cabaret with acts from most of the South American countries. It was almost like a Butlins show but the effort the performers went to despite some shoddy stage hands was amusing!
Today we had a free day and a few of us went into Paraguay to a big shopping district just inside the border. Its basically tax free so all electronics goods are pretty cheap so I bought a new digital camera (no excuse to not upload photo's now)!
Tomorrow we're off to the Argentinian side of the falls to go down in a Jeep and then right into the mist in a boat which should be pretty impressive! We hen have a few days travel before we get to an Argentinian Estancia (Ranch) for a few days of horse riding and living the life of a cowboy! Looking forward to that.
Thanks for reading!
