Rockin Rio has turned to Raining Rio. Its our last day in South America and Im completely exhausted. We fly out tomorrow and the last couple of days of rain have made site seeing extremely difficult. We took a trip to the Statue of Christ. Probably the most recognisable monument in South America. At 76m the great statue overlooks the city of Rio. As we approached, the city of Rio became a pure white form shrouded in mystery. And in a moment of magic we were blessed from the statue with holy water. Well it kind of went like that. But I would probably call the holy water drenching rain and attribute the pure white of the city to the fact we were standing in a rain cloud and couldnt see Jack... For Etiens birthday we scored tickets to an outdoor hip hop festival headlined by the Black eyed Peas. With some good local supportacts the heavens again opened when the headline act came on. The peas were the peas. It was a bit of the old case "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff" (Melbs crew; they didnt even play Weekends). We kicked on to the early hours at some local clubs.. Unfortunately its raining again today so I wont have another opportunity to go to the beach or check out Sugar Loaf. Ive been a bit slack with photos but hopefully Ill have some up today as well as a summary entry of my time in South America. Okies, im out..
