Koln Germany - Take One

What an insane day. I had class from 9 am until 4:30 pm and then I immediately ran and got on the train for Koln, Germany. We are staying in The Station Hostel—it’s really nice and the people of Koln are so, so friendly. We had a “dom sandwich” for dinner (thick bread with lamb, cabbage, yogurt sauce, chile, etc) and explored a little bit of the city. The city itself is known for The Dom, which is a massive gothic cathedral circa 1400s. The building took 600 years to build, and if you saw it, you would see why. It’s absolutely incredible. After that, we went down the strip where the city night life is and sat around a nightclub. It’s incredibly cold here… I would say 50 farenheit. But, it is such a nice change from Louisiana… I am not complaining! Tomorrow (well, today since it is 2 am) we are touring the cathedral inside, going to the old city and then spending the night by the riverside for the kickoff of the open-air music festival. Of course, a bit of shopping inbetween will be done. It is so nice to have a break from class and I absolutely LOVE GERMANY! :) Tomorrow IS another day…
