Today was our last day with the car, so we spent lots of time in it!! Another early start in the Grampians, and headed back to the Great Ocean Road....leading us to Melbourne for our return back to Newcastle. As we were leaving the Grampians I saw a wallabie (a smaller darker coloured kangaroo) on the side of the road...not doing anything, just hanging out by the side of the road....but seeing as I had seen so many dead wallabies on the side of the road, I knew what he had in mind...I kept my eye on him, and just as I was about to pass...out he comes, right in front of the car!! What a dumb ass!!! I slam on the breaks, and skid about 10 feet, stopping about an inch from the wallabie....close one!! After that incident it was smooooooth sailing, we made it all the way back to melbourne in good time, and then headed to the airport after we dropped our car off...long boring day, but part of travel I suppose!!
