The Rugby league games or footy as it is usually called are very interesting games, And the one I went to this past weekend was a very entertaining one to watch and learn from. There are three types of Rugby; league, union, and AFL. The most popular one in NSW is Rugby league, hence I have become to watch it a lot and like it as well.
These guys just go all out and hit each other. Quarrels are common but most never accumulate to a fight before they get stopped. I have learned the technique of the game, and etc. It is quite simple, but the only way one becomes good at it is to play it, which I am not.
The pinnacle of the NRL season is comprised of three games that are placed a few weeks apart. These games are known as the State of Origin games. And it is when the best of best players of NSW will play the best of the best players from the state of Queensland. They get the name State of Origin, b/c which ever state you first began to play NRL in, this is the state you are representing. These three games are like three Super bowls, or World Series. All my friends have never missed watching a single game in their lifetimes. They are obsessed. To let you know how much they care about these games, and how hard the players go all out. In one game the guy caring the first ball was hit so hard, that he played the ball to the other team, in another example two best friends since childhood, ended up playing each other, and during the first half they started a fight against each other, and it got so big that it went into the crowd. When I was in Port Macquarie at my friends Adam house, I mentioned the game during conversation, and his uncle was there, a true Queenslander, and he just gave me a scowl, and was not so open to me anymore. Anyway, I hope to make it up to Brisbane for the State of Origin, second game. The first round game NSW won in overtime. SO that is footy, and I really have taken to liking it a lot.
