For those that did not know, my 21st bday was on Tuesday. Two friends from UMass (Dave and Steve) who are in London for the year came to visit on Monday night. They surprised me by bringing along my roomate from freshman year, Aviva. We went to the beach for a bit and had some champagne and then went out into town for the night.
The next morning my roomates got up bright and early to say happy birthday and give me my presents. They bought me a pair of shoes (that makes number 6 that I've purchased over here), a shirt, and some candy. I spent the rest of the day at the beach after Dave, Steve, and Aviva went back to London.
Later on Tuesday evening, my roomates and I planned to go out to a curry house for a meal (but not everyone could go because they didn't have the money and had exams). To my surprise (again) however, they threw me a bbq on the beach and even Fran (who had gone home for the week for a quieter place to study) came. Hilary came along and so did 'the guys from number 9 and 33' (they're friends with my flatmates and live in town).
So it was a really eventful 21st, definately one to remember.
I have my second and last exam in about an hour. Then I only have just over a week left here!! I cannot believe I'm leaving so soon. I think I am ready to go home and see everyone, but it still is going to be hard to leave this place.
I'll be back in Amherst June 8th around 9pm and hopefully will see most of you soon after that! This is probably my last journal entry, so thank you for keeping up with my travels. Can't wait to see everyone!
