Camp 39, Queensland

The drive north, through Innisfail, turned very green and hilly once we turned inland and through the Tablelands...

Camp: Lake Eacham, in the Atherton Tablelands
Stay: 22-27 June
Weather: humid & overcast but cool at times, 10-24 average max/min temps
Facilities: nice camp site & cute cabin for folks, clean amenities, cosy camp kitchen with fire, friendly owners, very green & spacious property with lots of bird life
Activities: day trips every day to explore towns of Malanda, Millaa Millaa, Yungaburra (including markets), Atherton, Herberton & Tinaroo, Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway, waterfalls x 5 (which each involved some decent trekking), Mt. Hypippamee crater, Lake Eacham & Lake Tinaroo (4 a spot of fishing),, cooked & ate dinner in camp kitchen a couple times, $10 pork roast at Yungaburra Pub (!!), cheese/yoghurt/gelato/peanut/chocolate tastings throughout Tablelands area, playing Logo game and giggling away until all hours :-)

Next we head to Cairns 4 a bit, and then the Bickley's will fly back to WA and we will head for Cape York Peninsula
