Camp 37, Queensland

We travelled north from Smalley's Beach, via the Big Mango at Bowen, until we arrived at our next camp at Rowes Bay in Townsville...

Camp: Rowes Bay, Townsville
Stay: 16-19 June
Weather: beautiful sunshine, 26 degrees max & 12 degrees min.
Facilities: clean amenities, grass site, friendly camp neighbours who gave us some valuable Gibb River info, Mum & Dad's cabin was clean & just right for their needs too!
Activities: set up camp & then went for a wander across the road (along the foreshore, with a great view of Magnetic Island), picked up Mum & Dad Bickley from airport & settled them into their cabin, food shop & Townsville city brief explorations, checked out the view from Castle Hill, wandered along The Strand, BBQ dinner on the foreshore, day trip to Magnetic Island via ferry & cruised around Maggie Is. in a Moke (which had us all in giggles, especially Dad, with the way Tim was driving), fish n chips & gelato after a swim at Horseshoe Bay, burritos for dinner, a game of chocolate trivial pursuit, packed up camp with a couple of helpers :-)
