Beside the sea in Cannery Row - Cafe La Strada table/ coffee with view, Schooners for Wine and View'; Monterey Hostel

Got up and broke camp and headed down to the Cannery Row area. We were checking into the hostel that night after Nadxi arrived. From there we were going to head on down to Big Sur and do some camping there.

We checked for otters at the Coast Guard pier, took a short nap in the park and then decided to head back over to Cannery Row for a nice cup of coffe from Peet's and enjoy the view. The setting at Cafe La Strada makes you feel like you are someplace special which of course you are. The coffee shop is attached to the Plaza hotel but the sitting area is open to the public. Were enjoying our coffee and keeping up with Nadxi's progress as she headed down from Oakland. Robert called her to suggest she stop in and have a coffee with us and lo and behold, she was right by the hotel! Parked her car and came and joined us. We caught up on news and then decided it was so beautiful why not go down and enjoy Schooner for some wine and a small meal.

It is downstairs from the Cafe La Strada and we had a table right out over the water. It was very nice and we had some delicious fish tacos along with a couple of glasses of wine. We got to see two different groups of dolphins playing out in the distance and otters floating around on their backs while we were there. One of those nice days that makes for such pleasant memories!

From there we walked over to the Coast Guard pier and enjoyed the view and then headed over to the hostel. It is a beautiful place with one of the nicest kitchen areas I have seen. We got ourselves settled in and didn't take long to to fall asleep.
