Camp 35, Queensland
Camp: St. Lawrence, N of Rockhampton
Stay: 9-11 June
Weather: mild days & nights, cool gentle breeze at times & overcast, with the promise of sunshine not too far away!
Facilities: toilets, coin operated showers, free BBQ, nice enough spot for a brief stop on our way north
Activities: drive through Rockhampton for a cuppa & brief look around, arrive at the popular Camping Reserve of St. Lawrence & set up camp, wander around the reserve & chat to the grey nomads, have a look in town & at the local boat ramp (the first Salty Crocodile Warning sign!!), drive up to Carmila & Flaggy Rock for a look at some other small coastal villages (including the Music, Mud & Mayhem happening at Flaggy Rock - we only stopped for the homemade ice cream but got a show as well!), chillax at camp together.
Then we head north of Mackay for another free camping spot, and there's not too many of them on the Queensland coast :-(
