Back to Yellowstone.
We made the trek back to Yellowstone today. About a mile from our hotel, we spotted a bear in the woods, maybe 10 feet from our car. We were fascinated, and pulled over to watch him. He glanced our way briefly, then slowly sauntered off. Apparently we weren't as fascinating to him as he was to us. That's probably a good thing.
We experienced Old Faithful today. It teased us several times with small geysers before finally erupting at approximately two minutes past its expected time. Truly amazing. After that, we drove a little further and saw several more small geysers before stopping at the fountain paint pots. The girls really enjoyed witnessing those, but didn't really appreciate the smell of rotten eggs.
On the drive back to our hotel the sky got decidedly darker and the wind picked up in intensity. The girls were fearful that their whole evening they planned to devote to the totally awesome pool was going to be ruined. Luckily, whatever storm that was going through the area had already passed through Teton VIllage, so we arrived at the hotel to the sun shining.
Four hours is how much time Lacey and Lindsey spent in the pool. A solid four hours. No breaks.
