100km's to go!!

San Mamed del Camino to Portomarin (26.3km)

The first 5kms today were very painful as the ankle took ages to warm up, i think perhaps i went a bit to hard yesterday but all this slow walking makes me want go hard occaisionally, i have too much energy too burn!

Gorgeous warm weather again as we hiked through farmland and small rural villages. Nothing beats walking into a village filled with cows on the road being herded to the milking yards. Although i could do without the persistent smell of cow dung up my nose!

Stacks of new people on the trail. It really is quite surreal. You can tell a freshie by the spring in their step and the clean crisp clothes on their back. I hiked awhile with two German blokes who started in Sarria, I wanted to tell one of them that his bag was too big (it must have been around the 20kg mark!) but his English was limited and my German restricted to Guta morgin, danke and wandarbar.

Hit the 100km mark not far after Sarria! Pretty bloody good feeling to be honest but definately mixed with sad emotions too, i've had such a blast that its going to be tough to say goodbye to everyone in Santiago.
