Camp 15, Victoria
Camp: Lorne Foreshore Caravan Parks
Stay: 13-16 April
Weather: sunny & fine, about 20-24 degrees
Facilities: short walk to amenities from our camp which were tidy and clean enough (not closed for cleaning daily like most places though), nice and helpful staff, noisey white cockatoos in the morning! Tidy and well spaced camp sites
Activities: drive to Torquay and spend some time there (fish n chips for lunch, walk along foreshore and back to car, ice-cream), then took snapshots along the Great Ocean Road on our way back to Lorne, drive to Cape Otway with photos taken along the G.O.R. (including Cape Patton!! Which turned out to be the best lookout for the G.O.R. too) and then explored the lighthouse at Cape Otway, watched the Eagles SMASH the Giants, walked along the foreshore of Lorne one evening (watching the young grommets learning to surf), having a blast together or just chillaxing
On the road, the Great Ocean Road that is, for our next camp near Port Fairy - via the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, The Arch, London Bridge, The Grotto, The Bay of Martyrs, The Bay of Islands and Petersborough... Our travels on the G.O.R. to Torquay & Cape Otway werent too bad (just some silly foreign tourists putting themselves & others in potential harms way) so we aren't too worried about this stint with our camper attached :-)
