Camp 9, Tasmania
After some discussion at Launcestion (where we stopped at Cataract Gorge for a bit of exploring and lunch) we decided that Cradle Mountain wouldn't be a 'goer' with the approaching weather (including possible snow on the mountain!) so we looked for somewhere on the north coast for our next camp... enter Beauty Point!
Camp: Beauty Point Holiday Park
Stay: 2 nights
Weather: Mostly fine and 18 degrees, then the wind picked up and the rain arrived (remnants of Cyclone Lua) with about 16 degrees, returning to mostly fine again and a slight wind with 18 degrees
Facilities: clean, well-maintained amenities block and chirpy/helpful owners, located at a point with the ocean surrounding either side of the Holiday Park.
Activities: spot of fishing at the local wharf (due to 4m tides that make fishing at camp difficult), beautiful sunset watching, road trip of Tamar Valley local produce and scenery (Anvers Chocolate, The Cherry Shed, Ashgrove Cheeses, Honey Shop, 41 degree Salmon Farm), local Beauty Point explorations and scouting for ice-cream cone stockists, playing around with niece and naphew at camp/on road trips/while fishing etc., night-time giggles with Brad & Katie, Elly helped Katie a tad with some of her business tasks...
Then on the road again to return to the Hobart area...
