Finally the Taj Mahal...

Then it was on to Agra for the spectacular Taj Majal, Agra Fort and Fatehpūr Sikrī - another complex of ancient royal buildings. At every stop we had a new guide taking us through the sights and giving us all the background and history of the places but honestly most of it went in one ear and out the other. Everything was so awesome that I was just captivated by the buildings and was less interested in who built each one and why. ;) Of course the Taj was by far the most impressive and it certainly didn't disappoint - even with all the other tourists running around. My only complaint was that it was so polluted and hazy in Agra that you couldn't really see the Taj from the fort very well (as the prince apparently had to when he was imprisoned there and supposedly stared longingly out the window at his wife's tomb from his "cell").
