Taking a break in Oz.
So i got a bit of a break from hard traveling by spending ten days in Brisbane, Australia. My wonderful friends Claire and Steve were kind enough to put me up for the week and all I had to do was occasionally entertain their little one, Lachlan. The was an easy enough task most of the time since almost anything seemed to make him smile. :-) After a few days of relaxing and strangely appreciated domestic work, Jit arrived and we spent the next five days seeing all there was to see in the area... The kolala sanctuary where we fed wallabies and kangaroos, Lamington National Park where we camped and hiked in the rainforest (we saw a really cool lobster on the trail - yes, not in the water but on the dirt trail - and I got a few leeches), Gold Coast Beach, Mt Coot-tha where we got caught in a downpour during our hike and had to dry off under hand dryers in the bathroom of the lookout cafe, and several visits to my old favorite Muffin Break for warm choc chip muffins. The Brisbane festival also happento be on so one nigt we were treated to a cool laser light show over the Brisbane river after an amazing dinner at a Thai restaurant. The week was finished off with Carina's wedding at a beautiful venue in the hills. After a late night of dancing, Jit and I both had early flights to catch... Him back to SF and me to India... Back to wandering the globe again!
