From Athens to Heraklion,Crete, Greece

We are now in the Heraklion Airport on Crete after the morning flight over from Athens and waiting to meet Judy’s friends Kathy and Frank to proceed by cab up the coast to Camping Elizabeth and the great reunion of the Vassar Girls.

Wow, what a cab ride. An hour of thrills, but no spills. Sometimes 4 cars abreast on 2 lane roads-how did we make it without losing a side view mirror on a couple of those passes. We arrive at Camping Elizabeth (named after an elder daughter who lives there and runs it) and search for the manager. We finally wander down toward the beach and find them at the taverna. (Taverna-a thing more ubiquitous than gas stations in Greece; a kind of indoor-outdoor pub).
