Off to Barbados

This is my last story before I head off to the exotic climes of Barbados for a bit of luxury!

I have had a nice quiet couple of days at Lake Atilan. Yesterday, I took a glorified bathtub across the waters to a small town on the other side {San Pedro de laguna) It was a pleasant journey and the town itself was nice enough, although not overly pretty. Still, the views were great.

In the evening I coincidently met up with a couple that I had met in Spanish school who are doing almost the exact same trip as me - only in reverse, and they are taking a year to do it! We had a meal and exchanged some tips of which are good hostels to stay at, and which are best to avoid.

This morning I was up bright and early to visit the market at Chichicastenanga. It was a large, very colourful market amongst all the streets. I got lost so many times I think I must have visited every stall about 3 times, and believe me there were a lot of stalls! I'm just glad that I am seeing Paul next week to take some of the stuff I bought home as I don't wish to be lugging it all around with me for my remaining time!

Not much more to report other than my cold has returned once again, so Rachel, I am officially 'la snotia' again - but at least you don't have to listen to my sniffling!

I don't think that I will be able to write next week as I don't think the villas, despite being luxury, have an internet connection! So, until next time 'adios'.
