This past weekend Michele and I went to Western China for my last trip in China. We started the first leg of the trip in China's third largest city - Chengdu. The city itself wasn't much to write about, the pollution was pretty bad and it's not really known for it's sightseeing, although it does have one of the largest attractions in China... the Panda Reserve. Michele really wanted to see the Panda's and hold a baby one for her birthday, although I have to say it was pretty cool seeing those furry things up close.
We arrived to Chengdu late Thursday night and had a cool Zen Buddist Room in Chengdu. Early Friday morning we woke up and went to the reserve. Some of the picutures are attached, but at one point we were only a few feet from the Panda's, pretty cool experience.
Afterwards we relaxed at a tea house in People's Park. I even got my ear waxed removed, which was really weird, but it's part of my actions towards trying to understand the culture I guess. That evening we flew to our next stop, Lijiang... a place that was high on my list to see in China.
