We've been journaling here for four years, and today our nearly straight-up shot of the Eiffel Tower taken yesterday made it to the top of the picture pile at the Travel Journals site. Doug feels like going outside to proclaim it -- like the Old Man did in "A Christmas Story" when his MAJOR AWARD arrived in a shipping crate. But truly, the Pic of the Day is much more prestigious than any old leg lamp.
Today was the onset of Winter by our reckoning; at least it feels like it, and we noticed Parisians wearing gloves and jamming their hands into jacket pockets today unlike the past two weeks. Doug's tapering-off cold was a good excuse to spend nearly all day in the apartment, with just a quick trip to the Monoprix for groceries thrown in. Wine, chocolates and cheese are on most lists.
Tonight's a Steak-by-Lennie night, and Doug thinks that's just about the perfect way to end a relaxing day.
