Appologies for taking so long to fill in my Journal but its been rather difficult to get a decent connection! Okay so after finally dragging ourselves away from Phnom Penh we headed up North to Siem Riep, home of the '8th Wonder of the world' or so some say. Siem Riep is home to the largest temple area in Asia, Angkor Wat. We got a three day pass to explore the area with our Tuk Tuk Driver, Barry (Im making this up as I could say let alone spell his real name). On day one 'Barry' took us to see the Sunset at a temple high up a mountain, or a small hill depending on your fitness (So to us it seemed like Everest)... The Sunset was very beautiful, even more of treat was sitting on top of a temple that had been made hundreds of years ago of stone 2metre cubes, many carved sculpted works of art within themselves. It always impresses me when I see something that would be a painstaking task even with modern technology. but with nothing but Elephant and manpower to create such masterpieces is amazing. I will Skip forward a few days and many temples as without pictures its difficult to appreciate the grand nature of the place. As impressive as the temples where the best part of Siem Riep was the people we me. We were lucky enough that our travel plans crossed with the plans of two of Gareths friends from back home. Rich and John who are on a shorter version of our trip and doing it in the opposite direction. We Met up with them in Siem Riep and had the best nights out... Involving multiple drinks, break dancing competetions, being mobbed by street children, being returned home on the back of police motor cycle (Not after being arrested may I add) and in the words of Cila Black had a lora lora laughs!! We laso traveled back to Phnomn Penh with them but I will leave that for another time....
