We started our journey to Ecuador at the Asheville, North Carolina airport on September 14, 2009. It was a fairly uneventful flight to Quito via Atlanta on Delta Airlines.
We arrived in Quito around 10PM. After clearing customs, we took a taxi to our Hotel, the Radisson for our two day stay in Quito. We have learned to take it easy the first day or so in Quito because of the altitude (~9200 feet).
The next day we took it easy and visited the Middle of the World exhibit located at the Equator, about 15 km north of Quito.
We also visited the Temple of the Sun and watched an artist paint a picture in a couple of minutes using only his hands. Amazing talent!!
