This is situated close to Thalduwa junction at Avissawella. According to the legend this was build by King Seethawaka Rajasinghe in 1580s. This granite building was constructed under the ancient Tamil architecture. This was discovered & Conserved by Mr. H.C.P. Bell, the former Archeologist in 1890.
The Kovil is located in the bank of the Kelani river. The route is a short but narrow one ( just 200m from main road ). We visit there on our way to Katharagama
