Well me and Laura finally made it to Nepal. After about a 50 hour trip which involved a cancelled flight and about 15 hours spent in the Delhi airport, we passed out in our guesthouse in Kathmandu.
We've spent the first few days here exploring the city and sleeping a lot. Highlights so far involve (for me) learning to drive a motorbike (they were out of scooters) through the streets of Kathmandu, which I must say is just about the craziest place to drive I have ever been. Laura wisely refused to ride on the back of my motorbike so I traded it in for a scooter the next day and we visited some sights around town. Laura has become quite fond of using the hoses provided in many of the bathrooms around these parts instead of tp. And I got crapped on twice by a pigeon in a span of about 30 minutes the other day. Not a big fan of pigeons lately.
And we've also learned from a friend we met around town that Laura's name has a pretty cool meaning in Nepali. Apparently, it means Penis. Go figure.
So far we don't have any interesting bathroom stories to report but we'll keep you posted. That'll probably change when we head over to India in a few weeks.
We're going to try to include a photo of the mangiest dog we see on a week to week basis or so... maybe put together a little calendar or Christmas Card with the photos, who knows.
Hope everyone back home's doing great. Later,
Andrew and Laura
