I started the morning checking out the galleries downtown Silver City, NM in hopes of finding a good gallery to place my stone jewelry line in. My second gallery was a hit. I have a new placement in a large and beautiful gallery called “the Seedboat” on Yankee Street. If you ever stop in Silver City please visit and ask to see the jewelry by Shelly Birch.
After placing my jewelry I immediately went to set up my booth for the Silver City Gem and Mineral Show. It started raining right after I got the tent and tables up. Saturday the rain came hard (hurricane after effects) in the morning and all of the vendors from outside didn’t even bother trying to set up until after 1 in the afternoon. I spent a lot of money on stones, pearls, copper, and beads. The show was a bust for sales but I enjoyed my trip and I built up some interest from customers for the gallery. The local Gem & Mineral club provided a wonderful potluck dinner for all of the vendors…. It was delicious! Saturday night Sharifa and Greg invited me to a campfire & Brandy in the gardens of the hostel. Greg played acoustic guitar, sang and Sharifa played drums. Sunday was a little better at the show and thankfully I got the booth torn down before the rain came in again.
