Sabah is the Northern state of Malaysian Borneo, home to Mount Kinabaloo and Pulau Sipadan, neither of which we visited because of 5 month waiting lists and extortionate prices. A seriese of unfortunate events meant that we only had three days in Sabah, all of which were spent travelling... The things we wanted to do, birds nest soup cave and a river tour, were out of our budget - way out! - and since I'd visited them before I knew they weren't woth the money. So, we decided to cut our losses and fly to Kuching in Sarawak (the Southern state of Malaysian Borneo) in the hope that things would improve. We spent the night in Kota Kinabaloo Airport, using KFC's free wifi to keep ourselves amused. This was a very exciting, especially when we were evacuated because they were conducting a smoke test! Hopefully we'll have more fun (and sleep) in Kuching!
