Day thirteen
We had a long lie in and left the hostel at about midday. It was easy to get to our station and easy to find our train. We tried to book our sleeper to Rome, but we couldn’t and were told we could only book it once we were in Switzerland. Our journey was different because we should have taken a sleeper to Milan and then to Kandersteg, but as it was fully booked. So we had to change at Strasbourg and Basel. We managed to catch all of the trains easily with no problems. We had an hour in Strasbourg so we went on a little walk to see it again and recognised some of the sites. At Basel station we only had 15 minutes to catch the train so it was a bit of a rush, especially as the station had 35 platforms. We got into Kandersteg at half nine. Luckily the campsite was easy to find and it was still open when we arrived. We then had a quick look around the town and then went to bed.
