today was day 2 of our vbs and night 3 of the youth convention. the vbs went well as we were constantly coming against challenges and with God's wisdom and help, overcoming them. following the program and craft and lunch we handed out clothes to each of the more than 300 kids and sent them through a tunnel of kids from our team who cheered, hugged, high fived and smiled at every child as they received shoes and more candy and toys than they could carry. we told them that it was because of Jesus and his love that we have this to give.
at lunch I read through the entire guestbook of all the entries to the team. (any you post after lunch today I will read at debrief sunday night. after that, there may not be another time)
the youth convention service was another three hour endeavor with great haitian and american contributions. keith, a youth leader from Bakersfield first spoke tonight and did an incredible job. it was an end of sorts as the youth convention and vbs are both now over. tomorrow is church at 9 am, then lunch and a Haitian vs. US soccer game. then after returning to the hotel we will have a team debrief.
every person on this team is worth being proud of by those praying for them back home.
