It actually snowed!! Ok, so it was only about 2 inches that stuck to the ground but that's way more than they usually get. My flatmate Alice told me that she hasn't seen that much snow since she was 7! It started sticking on Wednesday night and snowed off and on into the morning. I woke up at 745 (so that I could catch the 820 bus for my 9am lecture). My first thought was that although this was nothing compared to the snow we get at home, it was a big deal for Swansea and school must be cancelled. So I phoned the University and to my surprise classes were still on (I guess because most students walk to school). However, Alice and I phoned the bus station and the buses were 'seriously' delayed so there was no way that I was going to walk 45minutes to campus just to go to one lecture! So instead, I played in the snow with my flatmates :)
Good thing I only had one lecture in the morning because the snow was almost completely gone by noon and the buses were back on schedule.
I'm most likely going on a day trip to the Pembrokeshire Coast this weekend with Allison, Hillary, and Tristan. We'll probably go cycling. It's supposedly the most beautiful coastline in Britain and isn't very far from Swansea. I'm going to check train ticket prices when I'm done in the Library.
Allison and I signed up for a horseback riding trip for next Friday. I'm really excited! The email they sent us showed two pictures from last year and the scenery is breathtaking. We'll be going about two hours north of Swansea.
Now that the snow is melted, I'm waiting for the warm weather that we were having to come back! It's going to be in the 40's this weekend which isn't too bad.
Enjoy the pictures of the snow! Cheers.
