After our exciting morning at the waterhole watching all the lion action, we returned back to the road to see what we would see. We find the S-100 near the Satara gate does not disappoint if looking for wildlife. You can continue to an intersection that will take you to a picnic area with an overlook on the river or continue the opposite direction that will take you into more open land where we saw rhino again and kori bustards along with other game.
We were not on the road for very long when Robert said in an intense, low voice, "STOP"! I looked over to his side of the car and there about fifteen feet ahead and six foot off the ground on a tree sat a leopard! We got to watch it watching us and whatever else it was watching. A car came around the corner and the leopard decided to come down out of the tree and across the road. What a noble looking animal as he crossed the road and into the grass where we lost sight of it.
