Day four
We woke up to a cool start in Vanerborg, with lots of condensation on the tent. So we had to pack it away a little damp. So we headed back to the train station at vanerborg and waited for our train. N hour passed with no sign of our train so we went back and looked at the time table at the station, but it went out of date ten days earlier. So we went to look for a bus but we had missed the one we would have needed. There was two taxies at the station but both of them were empty. Inside the station we found a taxi telephone, but when we tried to get through it was an automated system and as we don’t understand Swedish we got no where. Luckily by the time we had tried the phone a taxi driver had got back in her car. So we managed to get our train and we were on our way. But just two stops later everyone got off the train except us. So we went and asked the conductor why, they said we had to get a bus for an hour. So we ran across the station and got onto the bus that everyone else was getting. The bus took about an hour to get to Goteborg. We could see that they were upgrading the railway and so that’s why we had to take a bus. Once in Goteborg we had lunch and waited an hour for our train. We got on the train and to our delight it had power sockets. About two hours through the journey we had to get off and catch another bus for a half hour trip to the next station because they were working on the line again. Once we got on our train we had no more troubles and got to Copenhagen. Although we arrived an hour late we still had plenty of time to book in at the hostel and look around. it’s a very nice city with big open spaces and lots of old grand buildings. Later on that night, we met up with someone Niall knew and had a few beers and were shown around Denmark.
