When I lived and worked in Florida, two of my students told me that I should visit Korea. Yes, their idea was a bit biased because they just happened to be from Korea. I remember thinking it was a good idea, but didn't think it would ever happen.
Since I now live much closer to Korea, I thought this would be a good time to visit. I also wanted to travel somewhere for my birthday. Why not go to "The Soul of Asia--Seoul?"
I had a great time. Here are my top ten from Seoul (in no particular order)......
10) Spending the day with my former students in their hometown of Suwon 9) Attending a free concert at the Namsangol Hanok Village 8) Discovering "bibimbap", a hot and spicy vegetarian dish 7) Checking out the Gyeongbokgung Palace 6) Riding a cable car up to the North Seoul Tower, then walking back down the hill 5) Running into a peaceful protest at City Hall (I still don't know what they were protesting) 4) Getting a strange foot massage in Myeongdong 3) Taking a day trip to the DMZ 2) Giving my friend a hard time in Itaewon, then introducing him to Coldstone Creamery 1) Banging the drum at the Deoksugung Palace Changing of the Guard
Enjoy the pics!
