Hello family and friends! We just arrived in Salta, Argentina after an intense last few days of sight seeing and traveling! We left La Paz on a night bus that took us on a BUMPY road for 8 hours to Uyuni, a town that looks deserted that is obviously surviving on tourism alone. We arrived in Uyuni at 7am and had a 3 day, 2 night tour of the Salt Flats that started at 10am that morning. We got picked up in a Toyota Land Cruiser and it was me, Lisa, Kimmy, Tori, a couple from the Netherlands, and our guide Juan in the car. They loaded all of our backpacks on the top and we headed out into the desert completely made of salt! We took some pretty cool pictures because there is no depth perception, so it looks like we are eating eachother, stomping on eachother, sitting on eachother, etc. The next two days were full of long car rides to beautiful lagoons (red, blue, turquoise, etc), we saw flamingos, and a lot of rocks. Everything was beautiful but by the end of the tour I was OVER being in a car all day and seeing more rocks! haha. The tour ended and we caught a night train to the border of Bolivia and Argentina, a small town called villazone. From there we walked across the border to Argentina, got a taxi to the bus station, and bought a ticket to get to Salta, Argentina. The bus was about 8 hours, but it actually went by pretty quickly. We are only staying in Salta for one night, and tomorrow at 3pm we have another bus to the Iguazu Falls, on the border of Argentina and Brazil. They are supposed to be amazing, and Im really excited to see them! From Igazu we have a 20 hour bus ride down to Buenos Aires, where we will spend the rest of our trip and hopefully stay away from the swine flu! So theres my quick update, but Im gonna go explore Salta by night! Love you guys, all is well down in South America...I could DEFINITELY spend more time here, everything is so amazing!
