We just arrived in Salta, Argentina! Last night after the Salt Tour we took an overnight train to Villazon, which is at the border of Bolivia and Argetina. Once again, it was extremely bumpy and we got no sleep - but what can we expect? After arriving in Villazon this morning we walked to La Quiaca, which is the bordering town between the two countries to go through immigration. On our way we exchanged our money into Argentinian pesos, only to find out that 300 Bolivianos I had recieved from a ATM machine in La Paz were fake! It is only about 50 dollars, but still frustrating! The border crossing was really easy - just checked our passports and bags and we were in Argentina!
We got a bus fairly easy to Salta from the bus terminal. At the bus terminal there are a ton of bus companies, and we just used one that was recommended to us. The bus ride was about 7 hours, but we had to transfer somewhere. The seats reclined though and they showed a movies (even though it was in Spanish), so it wasnt bad. Once we arrived in Salta we bought our bus tickets for the next trips we are going to make, just so we know we have them.
We are just staying a night here - we got a bus to Iguazu Falls tomorrow at 3pm and arrive at 2pm on Monday. A very long bus ride, but the seats recline and are pretty comfortable, so hopefully we can get some sleep. We are going to stay the night there on Monday and then see leave late Tuesday night for Buenos Aires. We will have a few hours on Monday to see the falls, and then all day Tuesday. We just want to make sure we have enough time in B.A. We arrive in B.A. on Wed around noon. That allows us a full week to see the city - which should be perfect!
I am still doing great and seeing some amazing sights.
