On the day of Gurupurnima, the devotees performs puja for the Guru. Devotees come together and chant ritual songs.
It was planned that my wife, mother-in-law and me would leave for Dahanu by 5am, but got delayed and we left by 7am. It is around 130Km from Thane and we reached in 2.15hours. The highway is good but we had some traffic in between which delayed us.
Luckily it was not raining, therefore the ride was smooth
After reaching Dahanu, my wife and mother-in-law got off the matt (temple), their Guru is from that place. I then left for Dahany Fort and small dock. The fort is actually a small and now with Government offices. Unfortunately I could not take snaps of it, since there was not much I could see, I took a small walk on the sea side near fisheries and took some good snaps out there.
Later took a ride on Dahanu beach. There is a school adjacent to beach, the kids were having a gala time during their break. I tooks some snaps out there. The beach is not good for swim because of black mud and monsoon time. The waves were brown black so it was not a good motivation for swim.
We left at 3pm and reached back home at 5:30pm. On the highway we had a lovely view of mountains covered with clouds. It was classic view and good to watch the fresh green grass covering all the areas.
