Salt Flats

2009-07-07, Uyuni, Bolivia

We are off to Salar de Uyuni tonight so see the infamous salt falts of Bolivia. They are the biggest in the world and supposed to be absolutely amazing. We see lagoons, hot springs, flamingoes, salt hotels...It is a 3 day-2 night jeep tour and we stay in small remote hostels on the way. Everyone we have talked to has said it is the one thing to do in Bolivia.

We were going to head to Lake Titicaca yesterday, stay the night and return today, but there are road blocks (whats new haha) and we didnīt want to take any chances. So we hung out in La Paz another night, and we are taking a night bus tonight. We leave at 9pm and the bus ride is about 12 hours, and then we start the tour in the morning. This bus is highly reccomended though, and the seats recline, they give you meals, heater, a toilet, there are movies...shouldnīt be too bad.

After the salt flats we are going to try to get to Iguaza Falls for a night or two, and then down to Buenos Aires. We didnīt think we would have time, but it looks as though we will. We heard these falls are absolutely spectacular, a lot higher than Niagra Falls. We just hope we can get a bus there....

Wonīt have internet for a while, so just wanted to update everyone!

Love, Kimmy
