We woke up early. Still sleepy but ready to hit the town! The day was colder and we grabbed a taxi to Ann Sather's for breakfast. Ann Sathers is at 929 West Belmont Ave and is one of the few remaining Swedish restaurants in Chicago. We made the mistake of settling for a seat upstairs. It had NO atmosphre and was a big sterile room with cheap tables and chairs...next time I would suggest waiting for a table downstairs where all the action is - even a roaring fire! However the food was good. I had Swedish Pancakes with lingonberries and potato sausage. Breakfast was good.
We then headed back to the hotel and Alex, Camille and Christian picked us up. We headed to the Field Museum.
We spend some time looking at Sue the T-Rex and then hit the bird and animal exhibits. Very interesting - but a lot for the kids. We grabbed lunch at McDonalds in the museum and did mummies and Egypt for the rest of the afternoon.
We headed back to the hotel after taking a few photos on the lake front.
We all met up for dinner. Camille found a very FUN Argintine restaurant called FOGO DE CHAO at 661 North LaSalle St (312)-932-9330. It was so much fun. The restaurnt is very upscale. You are offered a huge salad bar (but the trick is NOT filling up there...because long sticks of meat rotate the restaurant and you can pick and choose from all the great choices....it's MEAT, MEAT, MEAT and MORE MEAT! The kids (well Patrick) loved it. On the way back we stopped at Alex and Christian's apartment and said hello to Wrigley.
Their place is the thrid floor of a cute brownstown - cute yuppie area.
Big apartment!
