Bolivia is amazing so far. It is absolutely gorgeous...and cheap! The currency here is about 7 to 1, so we are taking advtange of activities. There are mountains everywhere and the scenery is gorgeous.
Friday afternoon we rented ATV's and headed down to "Valley of the Moon". It is just a small valley outside of La Paz, with gorgeous mountains and canyons. I felt a lot like I was in Arizona or Colorado / definitely not Bolivia! We only rented them for 2 hours, but they were so much fun! We got to ride all around the valley, and we had 2 guides who led the way and showed us some nice spots for pictures. Later that night we just walked around La Paz and ate at anice vegetarian place. There are so many people in La Paz! Just walking around I am so suprised by the amount of people....either just walking, or working at their little stands on the street...They have crossing gaurds here too, and they are dressed up as zebras! It is pretty weird...they just help control traffic, and I guess they wanted to be more visible...
On Friday we figured out the rest of our travel plans, which feels good! There is a good travel agency in our hostel which is helping us book stuff, and they aren't any more expensive than others around town. We are leaving tomorrow (Monday) for Lake Titicaca for a night, and then coming back to La Paz and catching a night bus to Salar de Uyuni, which is where the infamous salt flats are. That will be a three night tour, and then we are going to catch a train down to Argentina, and from there a 2 day bus ride to Buenos Aires! It is going to be a really long bus ride, but the buses are supposed to be really nice...so we would rather just stay on a nice bus then get off and stay in a hostel. So then we should arrive in BA around July 14, which allows us a week there!
We are going to walk around a little more on Sunday and explore, since it will be our last day in La Paz!
Love Kimmy
