Waves that crash on the shoreline

Torrents of tropical rain streaming down

Beyond our memory

Streaming down inside our veins

O.K., here's some interesting pictures for the Carnival festivities.

For 12 days, Ecuador's Amazon Basin was filled with cultural events, wet t-shirt contests, dancing, and general debauchery.

I caught some of the fun on camera, but didn't dare pull out my camera during the wet t-shirt contests and bikini contests, since by that time everybody was pouring buckets of water on everybody, painting one another with plant dyes, spraying flour all over the place, and getting drunk.

And, of course, it was pouring rain during most of Carnaval.
