First thing this morning we bought a few groceries then found a wi-fi hot spot to get our journal and photos caught up. We then drove east on state route 44 to Badlands National Park. Once in the park we drove the gravel Sheep Mountain Table Drive which went up on a mesa that gave us amazing views. We then drove Sage Creek Rim Road north and then east through the Badlands. We saw lots of wildlife along the way, including a large herd of buffalo, a number of bighorn sheep, pronghorn, deer, and of course lots of prairie dogs. The badlands are basically an eroded escarpment between the high prairie and valley which provided many beautiful views.
Leaving the Badlands National Park we got on I-90 and drove east to the town of Murdo, SD where we parked the van for the night at a truck stop.
