John’s first words as we re-entered Thailand were ‘You’ve got to love Thai efficiency’ and as we approached Bangkok ‘It’s so clean!’. ‘Is he on drugs?’ I hear you asking. I can assure you he’s not and I must admit, I agree with him. After crazy buses, motorbikes, traffic, beeping, children selling bracelets, beggars, women selling massages, smelly markets and street stalls even we won’t eat at, Bangkok is a little piece of western heaven!
We managed to do a lot in the two days we spent here. We visited the few sights we missed the first time round and we bought a lot! Toiletries (which we were in desperate need of!), Birthday T-shirts for John (thank you Ken and Cindy!) and enough Pad Thai and Thai curries from street stalls to feed an army. We saved all our photo’s to DVD – there were quite a few – and sent them home to be kept safe, if they make it (thank you family Owen!). And finally, we booked the next part of our trip, Koh Tao, the best (apparently!) place in Thailand to learn how to Scuba Dive! All is booked and paid for and we’ll let you know how it goes in the next journal entry if we make it back to dry land!
