There were no "official" activities scheduled for today, so we were on our own. Some went on a cruise across Lake Geneva to visit the city of Geneva, also briefly crossing over into France. Me-- I did my laundry and some local "sightseeing" with Roy, Ian, Mike and Dave. (See humorous photos.)
Later, we decided to ogle the topless ladies at Lake Geneva again, possibly with Derrick joining us-- without his necktie! (See revealing photos.) I seem to recall actually getting wet this time and doing some mildly brave (or foolish) things in the water, my courage aided possibly by alcohol, but more likely Ian's assurance that he had training as a lifeguard.
Here are a couple comments about the hostel: The sleeping quarters seemed like old army barracks with bunk beds and no air conditioning-- not much fun with the weather being hot, muggy and occasionally rainy. The food, on the other hand, was the best of all the hostel food we ate. They had a "French chef" supervising our meals, supposedly.
And another story: As our days in Europe wound down, some of the couples in our group found that they had not spent enough of that special "alone time" together, especially since hostels always segregate the sexes. On one of the days at the hostel (possibly this day) it was clandestinely arranged for those couples to have the privacy needed to alleviate that need, at least for the time being. Tomorrow we would leave for Germany again.
