We woke up at 4:00am - our Southwest flight was at 6:35am from Oakland via Southwest. The airport was not too crowded for a Saturday of a three day weekend.

We gave the gate agents Valentine candy and boarded early. We also had candy for the crew. Papa slept most of the trip. We were very lucky, the plane was very full, however we had two rows for the four of us! The crew loved the candy and gave Patrick and Breana a BIG thank-you over the PA.

Patrick had fun seeing Iowa and could even point out the Mississippi River from the air!

We landed Midway on time. Boy has that airport grown! It was once a little hole in the wall - now it has a major terminal.

We grabbed a cab to the Hyatt on Wacker. We drove along Lake Michigan which the kids LOVED. We arrived the hotel and it was very busy. We had a nice room on a high floor overlooking the river.

We put ourselves together and headed to Marshall Fields to meet up with Alex and Camille.

The store was nice - HUGE, but not great. We had a quick light lunch at the sports bar in the basement.

We headed back to the hotel and ordered room service. This was the kids first treat of room service and they loved it. P had chicken wing and B had a fruit plate.

We hit the bed early!
