Hello everyone!
I'm sorry this entry won't be a very long/complete one, because we had a long day here and I'm just now getting onto my computer for more than a few minutes.... and it's almost 10:30 here, so I have to be up by 5:00.
So anyway! I'll just cover the main things, then talk a bit about what's on my heart tonight.
This morning, I was in "my" room- baby B- and it was pretty easy. Again, the mamas weren't very present, but it was fine. We know what we need to do here, and that, plus some extra loving, is more than enough. After feeding the kids lunch (AND getting my first bug bite- 5, actually) we took 10 of the Baby C kids to town for an outing. I was paired up with Gavin, a sweet, but heard to read 15 month old. 5 of us went to Ozzie's, to get a milkshake for the kids (which as you can imagine, they DOWNED within 10 minutes. I was in sheer amazement.) and walk around town for a bit. The kids were pretty quiet, probably just taking everything in! For most of the stinkers, it was their firt time ever out of the orphanage's gates. So as you can imagine, it was a pretty calm afternoon. After we carried them back home (it's about a 15 minute walk), we helped with dinner at our normal shift places.
It was about at this time that I was feeling very sick. I've been extremely careful about what I eat, wash, touch, etc. so I haven't had any problems. But all I can guess, is that today when we bought the kids banana milkshakes, there was sooooomething funky going on with those bananas. I only had about 1/4 a cup of milkshake, but that was enough to make me a liiiiittle panicky while putting the toddlers to bed. Haha enough said.... it's been a fun night. I'm feeling better though, after having taken some medicine.
We had bible study tonight, and it was good. Mallory led it, and really didn't have anything well planned, but the verse really hit home. We went over a story in 1st Samuel, where King Saul gets orders from the Lord to completely (COMPLETELY) destroy an entire group of disobedient people. Saul carries out the Lords orders, but he ends up keeping some of the healthier animals for himself. When he returns, Samuel confronts him about not following through with God's orders, but he replies by saying the only reason he didn't COMPLETELY destroy everything like God said, was because he was going to sacrifice the animals for the Lord.
Samuel replies with "Does the Lord elight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord?"
Wow. That hits it right on the head. In other words, Would a mother rather her child listen to what she tells them to do, for their benefit? Or would she rather have him disobey, but bring her a flower. Does that make sense? I sure hope so... it was just a really good point. Because I feel that right now I have quite a few decisions to make before the next year, and it's really easy to listen to what God's telling me to do, but then not exactly do THAT, but do someting else that is pleasing to him. Another random example... Feeling called to lead a bible study, but instead, buying my friend a bible. Yes, God's still glorified if I'm to do that, but is that what he really wanted?
I don't know.... sorry for the random rant, but since this is "my blog", I feel that I should really write what I'm feeling, when I write it.
Well, tomorrow is our second of three monitors over the babies. My shift is 6am-noon, and we'll be taking notes over Baby B- my favorite! Other than that, it should be a pretty relaxed day.
My camera cable that Dad shipped came today!!! So I uploaded abour 100 new pictures, feel free to check them out if you have time.
Love you all,
God is great,
Linds
