My cousin's marriage was on Sunday 15th June and on 14th there was Haldi ceremony, I had no choice but to leave on Friday 12th.
I left early from office, went back for my Wife & parents. It was a smooth ride as compared to earlier one because I had replaced my Scorpio bushings and shock absorber, earlier it was rocking like a boat.
We left at 16:00 from Thane and took the Pune Expressway NH4 highway with one halt for nature call and coffee, We reached Sai International Hotel which is on Pune Bangalore highway at Yelur, Sangli. Phone: 02342-250774, 350875, (M) 9822257040, email: saiyelur@yahoo.co.in, it took us 6 hours from Thane to Sai hotel
The rooms are good and decent pricing. We normally halt there for lunch. Rates are AC Double (1100), NonAC Double (950), extra person 250 Its 2 storey motel with no lift, There are no rooms on ground floor, therefore for elderly person its tough.
Next day at 8am we left the hotel and headed to Belgaum, it took us 1.5hr and from there to Ponda, Goa it took us another 2.5hr. Surprisingly the Anmod, Molem patch was good. it was patched up, otherwise this stretch is too bad because if Mining trucks.
We reached Ponda at 12:30 and then we headed to my new Bungalow. I could not open my main door, because some nut had replaced the main lock, it took us 1 hour to fix the whole thing. later we found that somebody had closed the tap of main water on the o/h tank. Finally we managed to reached my uncles place a bit late and had lunch.
Next day on Sunday, it was wedding day, lucky that water was there in my bungalow, my aunty and her family were staying at my place. After wedding, we went to another Aunty at Mapusa and from there to Bicholim, at 9:30 we left from Bicholim to Ponda again.
On Monday, it was relaxing day, we went to my uncles place at mid afternoon for lunch and came back at 5, later most of cousins visited my new place.
Most of the time we were busy cleaning the place, because you cannot rely the builder to do the same inspite of regular followup.
On Tue morning, we left at 8, went to my uncle place which is 10 min away and from there left at 9am, reached Belgaum in 2.5 hours and from there left to Kolhapur on NH4 highway. Reached by 1:30 at Kolhapur and took Darshan at MAhalaxmi temple. On the way back we had a lovely Kolhapuri food at Hotel Parakh and I will recommend all non-veg guys to try it once. They have thali system (Mutton, Chicken) they also have veg thali. The famous Tambda rassa and pandara rassa is out there. The good thing is quality and cheap. Thali was 90 bucks for Mutton and 70 for chicken. It was Damn filling stuff.
From there we left at 4 and headed toward home. On the way, I told my wife to drive and I was feeling sleepy because of the heavy lunch. I took over after an hour and we reached home at 10:30pm.
Overall good trip with overall 1800 kilometers drive in 5 days
