Woke up craving musli and of course I ate the rest of my box the night before. Yum yum.
Went down to the store to fetch milk and musli and some vitamin juice which has also become a favorite of mine while I've been here. Went to the internet cafe as well to check some emails and realized I needed to drop my summer class to avoid doing very horrible in it. Okay, my bad, I know now not to sign up for summer classes while I'm running around in Europe. That would make sense right?
After about an hour of that I head up to change to go to Vernazza to buy some regional wine and spices plus a little olive oil. After shipping some wine home through fedex we picked up some yummy smelling spice mixes and extra virigin olive oil for gifts and bring them back to the apartment. Around 4 we head out to the beach on Monterosso and swim around in the sea looking out on the mountains and the other 4 cities in the hazy distance and realize this is the most beautiful place on earth and we just backpacked 4 weeks in Europe and this is how our trip ended swimming in the cool water of the Mediterranean. I'm pretty sure this is the part where I tell you I'm never coming back home, but I want to go home to Eric and my family so to everyone else, sorry you would've just had to come visit me in Italy.
Went to the same restaurant for dinner and ate tentacles with suction cups from squid and octopus in my seafood salad. Seafood is a very broad term and it took all my will-power to tell my brain the food was actually very good and not to stop eating it because I felt a suction cup pop in my mouth haha. Balsamic vinegar makes any salad taste good.
My main meal was a seafood spaghetti and the mixture of mussels and fresh large shrimp (peel your own) along with a crawfish and some squid was SO GOOD. I swear the best authentic food we have had this whole trip was in Cinque Terre and my entire seafood meal came out to 22€ and at home I would have paid maybe 50 dollars for this meal and you can't beat smelling the salty air and sitting under an umbrella over the water watching the sunset. What a perfect ending to our vacation. The next two days won't count because they are travel days. So I'm stating the end is here in Cinque Terre. It was really a fantastic trip.
