One of the great things about Adventure Junkies is that breakfast is provided every day. Many of those days included purchases of muesli, eggs, juice and toast from the store so we could make our own breakfast at our leisure. Dallas made a great breakfast this morning, yum. I love how they take pride in not having any preservatives in their food and maintaining hearty and healthy lifestyles. Fast food is limited, you either sit down to eat or go to the grocery store.
We went Rock Climbing today with Wanaka Rock (www.wanakarock.co.nz). Rock climbing was definitely the most mentally challenging activity of the trip for me. The first two climbs were so terrifying that I was ready to quit. It definitely got more fun as we continued to climb, ended up with about 9 climbs for the day and many bruises. Dallas’ American feet are so large they didn’t have any shoes for him to use so he had to climb in his hiking shoes which was tough going up and tough on the shoes, definite nicked soles.
Climbing was great because we were the only ones on the rock. It’s great to be able to participate in nature and not have to share it with rude, polluting people who are just there to observe but not really participate. The signs are translated here in both Japanese and Dutch.
Our rock climbing guide was really cool, schooling us on the delights of: the information wars, Bilderberg group, and more that many back home would consider conspiracy but really they are just in happy denial the way ‘they’ want them to be. He has lived in NZ for 3 years now having moved from England I think. We were discussing the joys of the world’s end and how most modern societies would be in terrible places due to importing everything (lack of farming).
I love how you can drink from the streams here! We just found out that Australia hospitals give out crazy amounts of vacations…6 weeks vacation + 10 holidays + 1 day off a month. WOW! We are checking out our options of moving there but the exchange rate is so terrible and we are bound to our home.
