Full Moon Party... Volume 3 and Swine Flu

2009-06-09, Ko Phangan, Thailand

Personally, I think it's hilarious how much things have changed in the past few days since I wrote that last one. I went from hanging out with an American, to having to take off from him because he had to go to the hospital. The guy was running a fever when he landed from Japan, and it didn't go away so they thought he had swine flu and was quaranteened for 3 days in the Bangkok hospital.

Swine flu is a buzz kill so I took off with some English people I met. We came to Koh Samui, and after 18 hours on a bus/boat we got in at 1 in the afternoon. Normally that would have been fine but it was Full Moon night on Koh Phangan. After a quick nap and a few warm up beers, we hopped on a speed boat to Haad Rin where the party goes down. We met up with some other English people, drank some buckets and took off to the beach.

I went to the place where I stayed last time, to see if any of the guys still worked there. Sure enough, Chai, this wioked Thai dude still works there. I told him I'd be back in a couple days, and this afternoon I'm hopping on a boat to head back there. I would have stayed in the first place but while the Full Moon party is on, there's no way to get a place to stay.

I'll be staying at Koh Phangan, at Paradise Bungalows, for the next little bit. Who knows how long, but I'll keep you all posted. I had some chicken teriyaki for breakfast, it was a solid choice I think. Only cost a dollar too. Anyway, just a quick update to say what's up, and I'll write again when I have something better to tell.
