Back hame in Sanau after a great trip.It took about 2 hours to get to Bedugal. Up in the mountains.
Another stunungly beautiful location, but quite different to anywhere else we have been. The area consists of 3 huge lakes inside a volcanic crater with other smaller volcano's inside it. The average height in the area is about 4000ft above sea level. As a result, the temperature is a lot cooler, I found it very pleasant, but Zach was wearing a tee shirt, two jumpers and two pairs of socks. Despite the cool climate, Rachel got slight sunburn.
The whole area is very fertile and green. There is something growing on every scrap of land, particularly salad crops. All the fruit and veg in the local markets is very fresh and very abundant.
We rented a 3 bedroom chalet for 2 nights. very reasonable at £35 including a caretaker who came in to do the washing up and general tidy. The chalet was built entirely of wood and was very airy with a whole wall of glass folding doors opening onto the veranda with great views of the lake.
Zach has gone off to work till Monday. We are just chilling out today, then out to dinner with friends.
