Only 4 days to see Lake Louise, Yoho National Park and Banff. Certainly not enough time – could have spent weeks or months – but we really managed to see a lot without rushing about too much. Must be/has to be one of the most beautiful regions on Earth!
We were blessed with perfect weather. Warm and sunny throughout our stay, the mountains are still covered in snow and the melt water means the rivers and waterfalls are flowing at almost full capacity. It makes for a truly spectacular scene at every turn.
We’ve posted quite a lot of pictures that hopefully give an impression of our experience.
Perhaps it is time to come home; today (3rd June) we were walking along the banks of Lake Minnewanka near Banff when there was an almighty thud just behind us. We turned to see that a 30-foot high dead Fir tree had crashed to the ground where we had been walking just 15 seconds earlier. It had probably been standing there for decades – makes you think…
Wrote this as we stayed in an airport hotel in Calgary prior to our flight to New York for 4 nights and to meet Martin & Violet. Then…back to reality on 9th June! The end of our trip. Mike – get ready for next Monday!!
Suppose the next report we do may be done when we arrive home?
